Over the past 12 months jewellery retailer Lister Horsfall has expanded its Halifax showroom and offices, adding retail space, a new Rolex room and an Omega area.

“We have invested heavily in future proofing the business and improved the infrastructure to help support the increased size of the company and its 40 members of staff,” director Nick Horsfall explains. “We have been involved in pulling together an effective marketing campaign and have gone through a full rebrand, which has helped us focus and promote our strengths as a company.”

Having been entrusted with a successful fourth generation family business, Nick feels that one of his greatest achievements has been continuing to evolve the company to cope with the ever changing watch and jewellery industry.

He says: “I’ve learnt that it’s important to anticipate growth in business and it’s important to try and be proactive with change rather than reactive.”

When asked what personal traits have served him best in his career Horsfall comments: “I would like to think that my direct and approachable personality has allowed me to create a loyal customer base and also a great relationship with our suppliers which means we are selling to and buying from friends now.”

Nick’s objectives for the business moving forward are to improve operationally and prepare the company for any potential opportunities that may arise, so that Lister Horsfall can react when it needs to.

When not at work, Nick has been a keen wakeboarder for a long time. He tries to get down the lake a couple of times a week through summer and thought the Hot 100 shoot would make a great excuse for an extra trip this year!
